COVID 19 Announcement

The world is changing very quickly at the moment! In light of the recent government announcement, our production and installation teams will be shutting down for the required interval. Obviously this is a very challenging time for everyone, but we have a business continuity plan in place and we will be back up and running again as soon as we possibly can.

During the shutdown period we will be continuing to provide remote sales support, quotes and emergency service calls as required, so please stay in touch. Reply times may be a bit longer than usual, but we will get back to you!

BRANZ Appraisal

At NK Windows, we have recently gained a BRANZ appraisal. A BRANZ appraisal is a robust, in-depth, independent evaluation for building products and systems. This ensures that these products and systems are fit for purpose and Building Code Compliant. We hope this will give homeowners confidence in uPVC windows and make the building consent process easier for designers and builders.

Passive House & the NZ Building Code

The paper sets out what a Certified Passive House is, the status of housing in New Zealand, issues with the NZ Building Code as it stands and issues with other suggested approaches to improving it. It comments on the relevance of the performance of new houses with regard to overall housing performance and if requiring Passive House performance will amplify housing unaffordability. Finally, it closes with guidance on the road to closing the performance gap for houses.
